Lobbying

Your IBA functions as a progressive and responsive association and is always on alert for legislation which would prove to be harmful to broadcasters, while at the same time helping to put forth and pass legislation which benefits the industry.  IBA Lobbyist John Bradley and IBA President and CEO Dennis Lyle is also a registered Illinois Lobbyist and spend most of the legislative session in Springfield.

IBA sponsors an annual trip to meet with members of Congress in Washington, DC and participates in the NAB State Leadership Conference each year.  IBA delegates meet with U.S. Representatives and both U.S. Senators to keep them informed on broadcasting issues. Each summer, IBA arranges meetings with the U.S. Representatives while home in their districts during the month of August.

Currently Marv Dyson (IBA Director Emeritus) serves as Chairman of the Government Relations Committee and participates in the congressional meetings.

IBA keeps and maintains current issue papers provided by the NAB Government Relations Department.
