With new and substantial grants, Capitol News Illinois is expanding its reporting and business operations. Capitol News Illinois is a nonprofit and nonpartisan news organization that covers state government from in Springfield, Illinois. Among the additions to the CNI reporting team will be broadcast journalism operations from the Capitol. Capitol News Illinois will distribute video and audio content to all television and radio news outlets in the state. We anticipate our broadcast operations to be as successful as our print coverage, which in fewer than 4 years has been published more than 76,000 times in 460 daily and nondaily newspapers statewide with a combined circulation of more than 2 million. You will join talented and experienced journalists at the Capitol who are committed to our mission of providing credible and unbiased coverage of state government that helps address a shrinking press corps at the Statehouse. Prior experience of broadcast reporting is required. Previous coverage of Illinois state government is preferred but not required.
