Key Responsibilities:
- Jib Camera Operation: Operate studio jib cameras safely and effectively, maintaining proper balance, spatial awareness, joystick control, shot composition, framing, and focus.
- Audio Assist: Set up, test, and run audio equipment during live and taped productions.
- Assistant Engineer-In-Charge Duties: Aid engineering staff with studio setup, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting of control room and broadcast systems.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Technology, Media Production, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a television studio, broadcast operations, or control room environment.
- Experience with Ross Dashboard, OverDrive, Caprica, and other broadcast video systems preferred.
- Basic understanding of color correction, iris control, IP-based audio/video systems, signal flow, and streaming workflows.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven broadcast setting and work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new broadcast technologies, systems, and workflows.
- Become a member of IBEW local 1220 television broadcast engineers’ union.
Compensation:
$22.13 – $46.68 per hour – commensurate with applicant’s experience and skill level
