Responsibilities:
The Photographer/Editor is responsible for operating cameras, non-linear editing systems, microwave equipment, and cellular bonding equipment in support of electronic newsgathering operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting or a related field, or equivalent experience required
- Strong understanding of spot news coverage with an eye for creative storytelling
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a live truck
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and sound editorial judgment
- Familiarity with Chicago city streets is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Premiere preferred
- 3–5 years of television news gathering, editing, and microwave experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Become a member of IBEW local 1220 television broadcast engineers’ union.

Compensation:
$27.87 – $46.68 per hour – commensurate with applicant’s experience and skill level
