Dick Van Dyke

Dick Van Dyke became a member of the Illinois Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame on June 24, 2016 during a return trip to Danville, Illinois to raise money and awareness for his foundation with the goal of saving his childhood home. The home will become a center for the arts for the Danville area artists.
The 90 year old Van Dyke cruised into Danville in the famous “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” car and ultimately arrived at the David S. Palmer Arena for a reception in his honor. Tickets sold raised money for the Dick Van Dyke Foundation to support renovation of the home.
Members of the Illinois Broadcasters Association were on hand to present the surprise Hall of Fame Award to Van Dyke.
Van Dyke becomes the second inductee in 2016 following the Hall of Fame induction of Chicago Radio Personality Doug Banks.
